After being in Scotland for two weeks, I finally feel ready to get things rolling--such as starting up this blog! I needed to get settled in first. Plus, I get tired of telling the same stories to 10 different people, 10 different times. This way we can all experience Scotland together in one location! No more skyping this, facebooking that, and e-mailing such and such. It's all here. Don't judge me. I'm American. Efficiency (or if you want to call it laziness) runs through my veins.
In just two weeks I have already met so many wonderful people (mostly people from America, but not all!) and I have already formed so many fond memories. So much can happen in just 14 days. Highs, lows, and everything in between. It's an adventure that never ends and one that I don't think I ever want to end.
Most of the international students have formed a little group (mostly comprised of Americans, but again, not all!). Each night we all go to someone's flat and talk or play games for hours. We do American things, Germany things, Italian things, Polish, Danish, French, Austrian, and pretty much everything in between. We usually spend the time talking about TV shows. Namely, How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. Every single person I've met from Europe all say those two shows are their favorites. Each night the conversations usually orbit those two shows, but most of the time it's just between the Europeans while the Americans just sit and listen. They all know more about the shows than we do! Everyone (other than the Americans) speaks multiple languages and one way they all have learned English is by American television; thus, How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. I really haven't seen a lot of the former, but I sure do know a lot about the latter. I've bonded with a lot of people by discussing Sheldon and soft kitty.
Bethany you are adorable and I love u. So this is what it feels like to live vicariously through another person's adventures in an exciting far off land! ..cool! Many hugs and "happinesses" your way.. xox
